About Me
Hello! I am so glad you stopped by to learn more about me! First and foremost, teaching is truly one of my passions and I have no doubt that I am purposed to educate our young people. I am always ready to have a year filled with tons of learning, adventures and memories that will last a lifetime.
I am a proud mother of a beautiful 15 year old daughter (Nyla Monee ') who attends PHS. I enjoy seeing her blossom daily and having the ability to see her develop her own unique personality. Besides being a mom, I like to exercise, run races ( 5K, Half Marathons) , dance, read, travel and try different restaurants around town.
I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. I have two siblings! My older sister works for the American Red Cross and my little brother works has his own flooring company ( Dickens Dynasty LLC).
I am an advocate for lifelong learning! I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Alabama State University in 2008. I continued my education and received my masters degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama in 2012. I am currently pursuing my leadership certificate to be obtained from The University of West Alabama as well.
I've been in education for a total of 15 years. My teaching career consists of teaching second grade (3 years), sixth grade (2 years), fourth grade (3 years), third grade (½ year), fifth grade (4.5 years) and a reading coach (2 years).
I must say that I have enjoyed every part of my teaching journey! I hope not only to be a teacher that my students will remember for a lifetime, but also an inspiration that motivates them to want not only to learn daily, but also to grow as a person.
