8th Grade Math
Hello! I am so excited to meet you. Welcome to the Pelham Family!
This is my fifth year teaching middle school math.
I am also the Lead Teacher in our 21st Century Learning program.
I grew up in Tuscaloosa, and I attended The University of Alabama (ROLL TIDE)
for both my undergrad and graduate studies. My Bachelor's degree is in Mathematics
and my Master's is in Secondary Education Mathematics.
I taught in Tuscaloosa before meeting my husband and relocating to the Birmingham area two years ago.
My teaching style involves task-based activities that engage students in mathematical thinking,
reasoning, and sense making. I integrate technology for students to interact with mathematical
representations and communicate their developing ideas.
Some of my hobbies are spending time with friends and family, shopping, and ceramics.
I love iced coffee, tacos, & Kit-Kats. I love all things Disney, too.
