Meet the Counselors

Marquita Wells
Counselor, 6th Grade and 7th Grade A-L

Marquita Wells holds a Master’s degree from the University of Montevallo and brings eight years of dedicated experience as a school counselor, alongside over a decade of experience as a basketball coach. Prior to her work in K-12 education, she spent several years supporting youth ages 10–21 in the foster care system—a foundational experience that deeply shaped her commitment to advocating for every student’s emotional, social, and academic success.
Mrs. Wells believes that every student deserves an advocate who sees their potential—even when they might not see it in themselves. Driven by the conviction that all students bring something meaningful to the table, she works every day to build trust, break down barriers, and ensure no student goes unnoticed.
Away from school, she listens to audiobooks, watches crime shows, and is actively chasing a sub-30 5K!

I am proud to be a Panther and couldn't be more excited to work with such an amazing faculty and staff and to have the opportunity to help students continue to strive for growth. I have several years of experience as a school counselor and in education. I graduated from the University of West Alabama with a Master's and Ed.S. in School Counseling. Serving as a counselor in the school setting is my passion!
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Seth and our two kids, Alannah and Jack Jack. I love cooking, shopping, Alabama football, and all things Disney World!
